Really beautiful photos. All that gear. Its dreamy!
Great to see so much TMC stuff really Looks like DDRs and all kinds of fun stuff.
Fascinating pictures. Some big rack transmitters look in the family of SRT-14/URT-3 stuff, but not quite. So much fun stuff on those ships!

Subject: [GreenKeys] USN Floating tape relay
I am fascinated by tape relay centers as well as with US Navy communications. Killing both birds with one stone, I have just added some photos of the tape relay spaces aboard USS Arlington AGMR-2.

These photos were evidently taken during installation - One shot is of the crypto equipment bays before the crypto gear (KW-26) was installed. There are lots of MITE machines in this compartment that would have been used for order-wire and monitoring, but the rest of the photos show Teletype Corp. equipment.
The Arlington was one of two major communication relay ships that sat off the coast of Viet Nam in the 1960s. It was converted from an aircraft carrier with the flight deck becoming an antenna farm and the hangar deck filled with dozens of radio receivers, transmitters, and 1200 (!) pieces of teletype gear.
