I am thrilled to read of the rules overlay for the 2018 RTTY RU.   I have been on RTTY since 1967 and was an active RTTY contest participant from W3ABT into the early 1970s.  After a brief 30 year break from Ham radio and RTTY, I got back on-the-air using WA3FRP to find that everyone had moved to software based operations. But before, I moved to the dark side, I did compete in a number of RTTY contests using my Teletype Model 28 ASR with my original Hal ST-6.  So, getting the station setup for a 2018 RTTY RU run using my Model 28ASR and my Hal ST-6 has become a top priority.


As was already mentioned, converting a Teletype Model 28 to Auto CR - LF is well documented.  I can work with anyone how is not familiar with that conversion.  It was written up by Irv Hoff in RTTY Journal right after the release of the "Mouse" machines from PAC Bell and NCARTS,
