It is a pain that the computers leave out the cr/lf.
I use the crank for the line feed, then punch the cr thing through the big hole in the left side of the 15 printer case.
I don’t know why the compute boys don’t add a line or two of code so it will work with the old machines.
About 25 years ago I wrote a simple computer program for an old 8080 processor board. I had it set so that at 65 characters it would look for a space and automatically output a CR/LF. At 72 characters it would automatically do the cr/lf if no space was found.

Great news! However, I have a question: how does anyone using a real machine overcome the fact that the computer geeks usually do not insert CR+LF at the end of their transmissions? I used a Model 15 in the first RTTY contest I worked and it would end up pounding holes in the paper at the end of a line because of this. I also subscribe to the RTTY contesting list and a lot of those folks think that any extraneous characters is a waste of milliseconds.
