Gil,

I have a Creed 7B and a few Creed 75’s of various types, plus several 6S6 readers that I can’t get to work properly. I took a 7B to the Makefest an www.msimanchester.org.uk <http://www.msimanchester.org.uk> last year and printed lots of RTTY Art.

Hi Maurie:

I guess we don't have many folks here who recognize the Creed, except maybe from the movie Brazil. It was great to see your Creed running.

Sam in the UK is our current Creed go-to guy, taking up the Creed banner after we lost SK Alan many years ago.

We also don't have many folks from New Zealand. I have fond memories of a greenkeys New Zealander, SK Ted Minchin, ZL1MT, who, back in 2005 sent me from the other side of the planet, a classic RTTY book and a little stuffed kiwi bird, which still looks down at me from my shelf :)

Any other New Zealanders on the list these days?

thx, gil

Greetings all...
Further to the above postings, following is a link to the

(amateur) video I made of the 7B in action.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf0a4tos3mk

There was really not much repair work (but many hours)

involved to get it to this stage, mostly cleaning and un-

freezing of components. On the question of torn ribbon repair

previously posted, I have followed wise counsel and refrained

from attempting to go down this path - half of a ribbon works

quite well. The 30 plus year-old cotton ribbon was revived by

spraying LIGHTLY with Inox MX3, a tip for which I am

indebted to an Aussie friend, Larry. When I run this machine

the sound and smell (yes, the SMELL) of it takes me back 60

years to when I was a young buck punching tape and

pounding brass in the Auckland Telegraph Office. Nostalgia

overtakes.

73 to all
Maurie Challinor
