I recently picked up a Friden SFD-V machine. It is pretty clean, but would not function. I found that the motor fuse was blown and the motor drive belt would not turn. I found that the clutch on the side was stuck. After some work on it I freed it up. Now the motor will spin. BUT, there is a smaller belt, that looks like an o-ring and it appears to power the printer, it broke. I found another belt that will work, but I'm in a fog as to how to install it. Looks like the first shaft off the motor has to come out or move over some to get this belt onto its pulley. I thought that if I loosened the gear on the far end and the pulleys on the drive end I may be able to slip the shaft over far enough to get the belt over the end. BUT, the drive pulley has an odd size allen screw securing it to the shaft. 0.050 is too small and 1/16" is too big.

I have found a couple of documents regarding this machine, but neither helps with this. Thanks for the help. Mike Zahorik (414) 254-6768
