As a side note: Those "double" 1/4" plugs.
The signal pairs were "Both Tips" and "Both Rings.
The beauty of that is there is no way to insert the pair backwards or
upside down.
The only problem with them is the 3/4" spacing center to center.
Great if you have the Telco "long frame jacks." Otherwise it takes
a bit of grinding to get a pair of "normal" (individual) 1/4 jacks to
sit side by side close enough.

The reason I mention this is because over the years, I've had to
deal with some pretty awful "adaptations" at customer sites where
the customer were using the Plantronics dual plugs on their headsets.
