Hello Steve, and all Greenkeyers responding to his "Dovetron Advice" post!

I have a Dovetron MPC-1000R mk II model- this designation appears below the
"Wide/Medium/Narrow" switch in the left lower corner as you face the front
of the
TU, but on the rear where the Dovetron logo and serial number appear in the
right
lower corner below the ground lug, it is designated a MPC-1000R.

All the descriptions of control locations- jacks, switches, etc by Steve
apply to mine.
Are there differences between a MPC-1000R and a MPC-1000R mk II? If not, I
may
use it with a model 19 if I can get things together in time and do a time
analysis on
operating. Cooking up tape loops (real men eschew macros lol) is another
skill I need
to master. Getting it all plumbed up will be interesting. Add to that the
possibility of
having my aortic valve replaced by TAVR procedure somewhere between January
1 to
the 20th makes all this a real stunt. I will try to get in and make a
showing, but I may wind
up waiting for 2019 to make a serious run at the RTTY Roundup...

John's USB/current loop driver board sounds great- I don't know if I can
handle doing SMT
components well though. My eyes aren't that good. But I would like to get 2
assembled if I
can. The practice kits might be the ticket for me.

Good luck and happy hunting with RTTY Roundup this year, folks. We are
literally remaking
the history and reanimating the true spirit of RTTY operation. And, of
course, happy Hollandaise!!
(I mean, holidays...)

73!
