Interesting that the TT-109 (and sister TT-107) were considered part of the AN/FGC-30 system. Perhaps they were when the FGC-30s first came out in the
Army (1950s). The TT-109s and TT-107s survived long after the FGC-30s were phased out of tape relay service. These units wound up in fixed station tape
relays as part of ZVA (MCPU) tape splitters. They were often used as temporary receive-only perfs when a tape relay needed to add a new circuit but
did not have a readily available AN/TGC-5 and AN/FGC-70 tape relay set (When a TT-109 or TT-107 was not readily available, we sometimes simply
used a TT-76/GGC). TT-109s and TT-107s also would up in mobile tape relay stations (AN/MGC-22s, tractor trailer rigs), and all of these machines
lasted thru the mid and late 1980s in the Army.

Jim,According to the 1970 KLI "Military Telecommunications Equipment" catalog, the TT-109 (aka TT-175) was part of the AN/FGC-30 system. But it is shown on a roll-around cart and there were only 9 per system, so it was probably used for maintenance/testing, etc. The main reperfs, were the TT-226, -227, -254. -255, -256 and there were about 100 of each of them.If you don't have a copy of the KLI catalog, it is on Navy-Radio.com, hidden in among all the Teletype Corp publications.Have fun,DuncanOn 27-Nov-17 20:10, Jim Haynes wrote:> I'm wondering if that reperforator set, sight unseen, might be part of > the> AN/FGC-30 automatic switching system.
