[GreenKeys] 2 1/2A SCREW IN FUSE

May be loose / weak terminology, but I also hear the standard US
120V-N-120V system described as "split-phase". It works out well for our
breaker panels, though. Two black and one white wire come in via the drop.
The breaker box has two columns of breakers, left and right. The white wire
goes into the buss bar that forms the center mount of the breakers, and one
black 'phase' runs down the outer edge of each breaker column.

This way, it's very easy to add up the loads and keep things balanced as
much as possible. Also, the two black 'phases' can be unified at any point
to form a 240AC feed. But it's important to note that neither 'phase' of
the 240V is common to earth; the common is still to the center tap of the
pole transformer. So it may be necessary to run dedicated grounds for these
applications.
