[GreenKeys] Red paint on Teletypes...

Glyptol or Glyptal paint was a high voltage insulating paint used by cable splicers and for other
'quick fix' situations.  I used it many times in my 39 year career as an industrial electrician, the
last 35 being as a high voltage switchman in a power house.

I'm certain that it would work as a 'thread fixer' as well.  I put a lot of it on in various situations,
but never had to remove it.  Don't know what kind of a job that would have been.  I suspect
that there was/is some kind of solvent that would make the job easier.

I think that GE had the copyright on the name, but not certain.  This website has a bit of info:

The photo here shows it in use on an engine block.  Who knew?
