At least they are making their surplus items available to others who
want them.
I wonder how many museums simply dump things in an out of the way place
where they are never seen again because they wouldn't dare deal with
anyone who isn't a museum.
Of course, to most museums, the artifacts are "props" used to tell about
social history rather than examples of the technology that makes them
unique. Thank goodness for outfits like the Museum of Communication or
the Telephone Museum in Ellsworth Maine!
But I agree with Gil. I would be *very* careful about where I would
pass on my collection.
