Ed,
Not to put too fine a point on it, but what other options does he really
have? Once you throw up your hands & quit, it's OVER and you FAIL.. and
that's just not how things get done.
In addition to a strong, flexible and teachable mind, one requires some
real tenacity. Absent the latter, the former are of little use.
