[GreenKeys] Whazzit? Normal Input Keying (NIK)

Actually I got that definition of NIK from an Army manual of definitions :-)
TM 11-5815-602-24 says that the UGC-74 supports "NIK for the TSEC/KW-7"
AHA, I just found a KW-7 interface drawing in that manual that says the
marking contact current is 80uA. So NIK is evidently a 50-80uA loop current.
Additional note - there is a STEP connector on the KW-7 so I guess it was
one of the crypto units that put out that 50mA pulse to release a character
from the TD or keyboard.
The UGC-74 also supports +/-6V signaling (MIL-STD-188C) - what the Navy
meant by "low-level" signaling (and that's also what this Army document
calls it)
Info from a TI document -
LOW LEVEL - Military Standard 188C (MIL-STD-188C) is similar to
TIA/EIA-232-F in the fact that it specifies an unbalanced point-to-point
interface. Driver output is +/-5v to +/-7v and receiver input impedance is
>6k ohms

I suppose this could all be part of a disinformation plot to confuse us
about what was actually connected to what....
