Doug,
The printer is adding and dropping the first bit.
T is 3 5 7 marking
U is 1 3 5 marking
Ignore 8 as it has nothing to do with printing, just parity.
I will attach a 33 typewheel chart if you dont already have one.
Where is the Rangefinder set to? 50 or 60 is normally where its at.
Its possible that the armature is sticking to the coil or solenoid due to some gummy oil residue. I think I have a pic of the area. I do. I have labeled it for you. The gap is between the yellow arrow and the red arrow. A green line shows you exactly where it is. There are 3 of these points of contact. The pic shows one outside one and then there is another outside one toward the right side and a larger middle one. Look down from the top to see all of them. Sometimes the gap has gummy oil in it. Clean with spray solvent with a rag tucked in to catch the solvent. Ignore the fact that the selector clutch drum is removed.
There are two springs behind the selector clutch stop and latch levers. Make sure neither are broken. The are right under the fuse holder.
Wait, first see if it prints correctly from a computer. If it does, the trouble is in the KBD, AB or TR. If it doesnt print correctly from the computer then the problem is definitely in the printer.
Wayne
