I don't agree on everything you noted Jeff....The range setting limits often change as the printer operates for a while if only a few points.As the clutch felts heat up, the operating characteristics of the felts may change. An older smooth felt may begin to function better depending on the clutch spring tension. Heat does impact felt clutch function.
Adjustments don't correct themselves after a few minutes.

Except...
if any of these things are wrong, they stay wrong.
They don't magically fix themselves after a few minutes of operation
after turning the machine on.
