very true... all the gummed stock for the most part I have found in
machines is like a rock stuck into a solid puck
when do you anticipate making the next run of paper?
although the 2b western union machines uses smaller than 3/8 by a
hair ... guides can be replaced for 3/8
we have one 3/8 machine here

No it's not gummed.
It's better for longer storage.
Gummed tape often glues together and becomes worthless when stored under
humid condistions.

Richard,
from time to time our group of teleprinter (teletype) collectors in
Germany organize an order
for 3/8" (9.5mm) strip tape paper from a roll paper company that still
produces it on demand.
Same paper machtches also German Siemens and Lorenz machines.
Price is affordable, abt. 2 $ per roll as I recall from last order.
Unfortunately last order of 500 rolls is now sold out, bit I am sure the
will be a new one
in the future.

I realize the parts and accessories listed below may be hard to find but
the recent thread about the Model 11 rare birds prompts me write with our
needs.
As some may know, we recently received a donation of a long desired
Western Union (Teletype) 2B strip printer from a generous member of this list.
The intent is that it will be exhibited as a stand in for the 2B that we see
in the 1946 photo of the KPH operating room.
Please see the attached photos.
The machine appears to be in excellent, original shape. But we are
looking for the following items:
Tape reel cover
3/8" paper tape (gummed preferred but non-gummed would be great too)
Moistener/cutter. I'm not sure what the real name for this tool is but it
was used by the operators to moisten the tape for sticking to the radiogram
blank and cutting the tape to the proper length.
All leads to any of these admittedly scarce items will be gratefully
received.
Regards,
RD
