I would not even attempt a power up AT ALL until they are cleaned  lubed 
and adjusted... otherwise you risk trashing something...

You should be able to connect the two M11s in a 60ma current  loop and 
communicate between the two units. But before you put power to  them, 
make sure that everything moves when you turn the motor by hand.  After 
all this time, things may be gummed up and not  move.
