The Model 11 was a Tape Printer which used gummed paper tape that could be
pasted onto a _telegram_ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telegram) blank.
This was the first teleprinter to successfully operate from an airplane!
see below and get the photo and blow it up!

Very neat indeed, and a machine I'm +totally+ unfamiliar with.
So these machines punched code onto tape that required a trained operator
to read it? Or did they print in text? The former makes more sense, as then
the tape could be fed into a reader for re-transmission if needed.
There aren't any DC power supplies visible, so if the loop didn't supply
power, then they'd certainly need a battery or external DC supply for that.
But you'd think that 60mA @ 120V would take quite a battery, to not run down
in short order.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Congratulations on the find !
you have achieved what most of us only will be able to dream of!
Juha the Edison switch is a round switch with a turn knob on top ...
as I remember it.
Let me find photo...
do you suppose the motor ran off the 110 or 220 v and the battery was
for loop current?

Hey folks:
I recently heard from a fellow in Finland, Juha Lahtinen, who has two
model 11 machines! I knew of one M11 in The Netherlands years ago (the pics on
my site), but it seems to have fade into obscurity.
These two M11s may be the only ones in existence. They have been
protected over the years inside crates.
Juha is interested in any M11 information that we may be able to scrape up.

Why I think it is Army use.
Color .. then I found small list accessories in Finnish what is needed
for two sets..
1 1 q:ty Edisson line switch ? ( what kind that that would be?)
2 1 q:ty Motor Clutch cable
3 3 q:ty Battery Cable (one spare?)

5 4 q:ty Battery P-4-60 (This is finnish army code for Battery) I
guess two for each station.(one spare)
under the teletype 233 is that serial number?
Speed control I think there is adjustable resistor . during those days
it was difficult find right stabilize voltage.
you can see 110V .. 220V
in the middle you can see resistor I think it is made for use 220V.
Have a great Weekend
Best Regards Juha
