[GreenKeys] General operations

I have another dumb question... well, it's only dumb until you know better.

When powering off the ASR33, is there any benefit to returning the carriage to the left?

I am planning to make a dust cover for it... but it would look nice if I could cover it with a sheet of plexiglass.

I want to enjoy seeing this machine, but don't want it getting caked with dust.

Hmm, after thinking about the challenges of bending plexiglass and supporting it, perhaps a clear plastic bag would be simpler to use?

Cheers,

Josh Bensadon

Mike Douglas has a special bracket that prevents the printing. I always thought I would try to make one of these. You can see it in action in one of his videos on YouTube. His channel is deramp5113. Sorry I don't have the exact video link handy at the moment.

I have a later model ASR33, I am wondering about 2 things.

When I send a file to the unit for punching, I want to suppress the printing of the data.

Next, I found that codes 0x14 and 0x12, stop and start the punch (<Ctrl>-T and <Ctrl>-R).

How do I punch these codes on tape without stopping the punch? Is there an escape sequence?

Or is this ASR just not meant to punch binary codes?

Help?
