Ah yes, the notorious ditriprong blivit (or is it blivet?  My memory of spelling is weak).  That's what they were called when I first encountered them, but if you google the term, you don't find any out there today.

As to making them, today's manufacturer has many new options such as 3D printing that would make them much easier to make.  I bet you could make one in 1/4 the time it used to take.
