Ah, that’s right, the DC is for the punch ;o … mmm, looks like I had a brain flatulent ;o . Unfortunately, I only have one 1/4” jack (red)… with the two wires coming from the jack - connecting to both send and record - terminals 32 & 41 (with 34 & 41 connected by a jumper wire… seems like the modification put transmit & receive onto one jack ;o ), as seen in the diagram here:…
http://www.virhistory.com/navy/manuals/tty/jh/ttyman9/drawings/military/19x01.pdf
Ok, so… as Ralph said in an earlier email:...
"As the machines may have been rewired many times, don't trust the terminal numbers. You are looking for 3 sets of wires. One pair is for 120 volts AC that goes to the motor usually through a switch. One set will go to the coils for the magnets. That is the 60 ma data line. The other set will go to the set of contacts on the base of the unit that is the keyboard data out line. The wires for the magnets and keyboard are usually wired in series so what you type will be printed.”
…so I’m assuming, from what I think I know ;p … that by applying the 120vdc/60ma voltage to the send line - that the keyboard and printing unit should then work ;o (while trying to trust the terminal numbers, that is ;p ~). Also, since it seems like send and record lines are on the same jack, that running a single transformer supply - positive to pin 41 and negative to pin 32, that this might power both send/record ;o ?… or should I just disconnect the red jack for now, wire it up to the send terminals, remove the jumper and see what happens ;o (I know it is never the best to see what happens ~o~; ~…..)???
I don’t know, I’ve been looking at this stuff, emails and wiring diagrams until I can’t see straight anymore xD hahah… almost there :) . Thank you all once again everyone and please have a great night/day wherever you are ^^ !!!
