Yep, and it only took a couple of inexpensive parts to change the printers
to use narrower tape.  I guess the Bell System didn't use enough tape for
it to save much, and not worth the cost of replacing the parts.

Time for a funny story about W.U. and Teletype.  When I worked there the
president of Teletype was Maury Goetz.  Pronounced like "gets" although a
more correct German pronunciation would be something like "gerts".

on business.  There was a period when rumors were swirling that W.U. was
going to buy Teletype from AT&T.  Maury said at those times the people
at W.U. headquarters would show him a little desk in a dark place under
a stairwell, and say, "See here Goats, we have a place for you when we
take over Teletype."
