[GreenKeys] Teletype Model 43 ribbon

Gab, the reason I used a cool iron on the ribbon was because my ribbon had a zillion wrinkles in it, see picture. The iron flattened the fabric out. My Model 43 maybe a little different, the upper left ribbon spool is spring loaded and this is what keeps tension on my ribbon, it does not loop pass the plastic strip. Hope this helps. That makes perfect sense. You sound like an expert
on this, so any suggestions for how to make the
loop a tad shorter, so it's tigthter when installed?
Mike, I think, mentioned running a cool iron over
his -- would that also shrink it a bit, do you think?
