Whether or not it needs the INF file appears random to me. Sometimes it does, sometimes
it doesn't.
The baud rate is configured only via the setup menu. Windows' idea of the baud rate
is completely ignored because Windows has no concept of most TTY baud rates. The info
sheet shipped with the board goes into this in more detail.
The resistor in question is the big rectangular one on the top left part of the
board. It is in series with the loop and samples the loop current as part of a divider,
stealing just enough power to turn on the input of an optocoupler. It is a 2-watt,
150 ohm resistor.
You do not need to change it unless you are doing something really unusual. It will
work for both 20ma and 60ma loops as is. The voltage across that resistor will be,
by Ohm's law, approximately the loop current multiplied by the resistance (150 ohms).
