I've been horribly remiss...I got one of the prototype CL adapter boards
from Eric some time ago, and finally got it all wired up and tried out
over this past weekend. Work pressures combined with the fact that the
weather has finally turned somewhat decent around here (which means the
Honey Do list is large) has made time to tinker difficult to come by
lately.
Bottom line: It works beautifully. My 33ASR loves it.
I did some tinkering with the mods to simh to get it to talk to a "fake"
tty port via USB under Linux, and got HP 2000/Access Timeshared Basic
running over the USB adapter to the Teletype. Though BREAK processing
is difficult in this realm (mods may be able to be made to SimH to
recognize the BREAK signal from the gizmo, but that is a low priority
for another time), everything else works just as well as it does when I
use my Current Loop to RS-232 adapter to plug the 33ASR into a real
serial port on the Linux machine.
Eric has done a fantastic job with this little gizmo!
