FWIW Westrex was originally Western Electric Export a division of
WE. When WE was fully acquired by AT&T and got out of all non-Bell
System manufacturing it spun Westrex off as an independent company
handling WE motion picture sound and disc recording equipment. You will
see the Westrex mark on movies made after about 1950 by studios who
contracted for the WE system. Eventually Westrex was acquired by Litton
Industries which became a large conglomerate.
