Yes I think they were stupid!

An ad in the local paper would have brought 25 to 50 each for them!

I think it was great one of our guys got them for almost gratis
though !

Why would I expect them to ship them to me for free? nice idea Jeff but
you are starting to imagine things.

Telcom museums are a puzzle sometimes....
the best one was in SF Calif. run under Don Thrall's supervision but
when Don left it all went to hell... ( I heard there ttys went into the
dumpster there was a time I quit traveling for a while and do not
travel all that much now except I did go to the NAB show to gather info on
VR for use in journalism )... I hope state stepped up and helped take
over the Chinese exchange history material. It was world class and one
of a kid....and a lady that used to work that exchange put together all
the archives on it. ( sorry I forget her name but she was wonderful.)
Back in the days I would visit when I was in the computer biz I
would visit when I had to go to 3000 hannover st to HP HQ... I would go
thu SF see the switching gear work, play with phones, and head up to
see my mom in santa rosa... this was in the 1980s.

they sure were stupid!

How can you even think that?

What would you suggest they have done differently?
1. Sit on them until they rot asking an insane price for them.
2. Pitch them into a dumpster.
3. Send them to you for free and pay the freight?
