Duncn! glad you are having fun!
buy a extra one in case it does as we do not know if more will be
made and it is such a useful board. ( and it helps keep eric motivated
to MFR idf we keep buying <grin!>

OK =- the hyperterm on your win xp or earlier? will work on win 7
and 10
there are 2 files u need plus a help file ( which I did not bother
with)
On the Windows 7 box make a new folder under C:\Program
Files\HyperTerminal for 32-bit and for 64-bit make a new folder C:\Program Files
(x86)\HyperTerminal
>From a Windows XP box and copy the following 3 files to the folder that
are on the Windows 7 box:
C:\Program Files\Windows NT\hypertrm.exe
C:\WINODWS\system32\hypertrm.dll
C:\WINODWS\Help\hypertrm.chm
Now just run hypertrm.exe and HyperTerminal is on Windows 7.
If you want to have HyperTerminal on your Start Menu just create a
shortcut to hypertrm.exe and put it inC:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs and when you go to All Programs under the Start Menu HyperTerminal
will be there.

The only issue that I and other out on the net I got this info from is
that when creating a connection the icons do not show, but EH! a non
issue.

someone else recommend a split screen term program and what was that
title again? I could like to try it also

Eric,

THANKS for designing USBTTY and making it available to us!!

Got the board fired up, but have some questions:
In the Config Settings - in "AUTOMSG" - how do you enter "EOF" from to
computer keyboard to exit from the text entry?? I assumed it would be a
"CTL-" or "ALT-" sequence, but I think I tried everything and nothing
seemed to work. (I want to use the "Autoprint" feature for demos at the
Antique Wireless Museum.)

What are people using for a terminal program? I was surprised to find
that Hypertem is no longer included in MS OS since MS Vista (I'm using
W7 and assuming W10 won't include it either). I downloaded "ExtraPuTTY"
and it worked, but it was hard to find the "Serial Data" mode and I
couldn't figure out how to save my settings/config. I have read that
the Win XP exe & dll files for Hyperterm will still work on W7, so I
will try that next.

In looking for a small plastic box to put the board into, my wife
suggested Jo-ann's Fabric & Craft store. We went there and she got $2.50
worth of pins and I got a "free" ~2" square sturdy plastic box!

Thanks & have fun,

Duncan
