ok JIM! early gumming desk tag on doc holder Ha! it says 3A
my error on the 3B

OK Jim I like the celluloid keys because they look older and
cooler!
and...... BECAUSE MY FIRST TTY 14 HAD THEM!

anyway there are 2 tape printers and one typing reperf///

sad story... previous owner had boxes of tape... LOTS AND LOTS of
boxes.... and they burned them... then found the machines in the attic
later.

between stuff like this for the displays ( one tape smecc one tape
in college tolls of journalist display and the typing reperf I will
pay with at the house for a while and relive my first tty fun then
down to the museum it goes!)

for the media preservation end of things we were kindly given some
XV series multi xenon processor kick ass workstations ..... I keep
dreaming of the new z series 20 core machine but at 11 grand ain't
gonna happen. these were a kind gift and... VEGAS video editor will do
multi machine network rendering... so a stack of these and each one
with mutli xeons with multi cores in each processor.... WHEEEE it will
make rendering a complex edit of something 2 hrs long with too many
timelines in it... go PRETTY GOOD ( fingers crossed )

Anyone familiar with matrox SDI cards?

Without a picture I can't even guess much, but
2B is the Western Union version of the Model 14. so far as I know all had
celluloid keytops. And the other difference from the standard Model 14 is
that the 2B uses 5/16" tape rather than 3/8" I've heard some W.U.
employee won a big suggestion award for suggesting that they narrow the
tape by 1/16".

Where space permitted, the 2B sat toward the right end of a table and
then to it's left was a "gumming desk" which had a clamp to hold message
blanks, a clip to hold a message number checkoff sheet, and a curved
part at the back to hold the tape moistener tool. There was also a little
box with a felt in it and kept full of water in case extra moistening
was needed.

Where space did not permit the above, the cover of the printer was adapted
to serve for gumming the tape. Maybe that is a 3B - I dunno.
