Success! I had trouble with the carriage return on my Model33 ASR. I investigated how it works and I could make it work by pushing down onthe Carriage Return Function Pawl. It would push down on the Actuating lever, turn the linkage, and pull back the carriage return lever, allowing the printhead to return. I spent time cleaning and lubing all this stuff and thecarriage travel pulleys etal. None of this stuff improved the issue. I have toadmit that I got confused between the function actuating lever and the functionlever. I was working the parts that were working correctly. After some time Inoticed one of the levers was not routed straight back from the bail pivot rodto the pawls. I looked odd, and for a while I discounted it because it was notpart of what I working on. Until I realized that the reason the carriage returnwas not working because the CR pawl was not moving when the CR key was pressed. The function lever was notmoving the pawl, because this bent lever was the CR function lever and somehowit popped out of the slot it was supposed to be in with the pawl. It was actually sitting in another slot. Moving the this lever back in the proper slot repaired the trouble. Now theunit works in the LOCAL mode. See picture.  Next I want to make a converter to convert the 20ma loop toRS-232 and connect this TTY to one of my older computers. After that I want toget the paper tape reader and punch working. Where can I get paper for thetyping unit and the tape equipment? I see some paper on eBay, is this paper thecorrect size etal? Thanks Mike Zahorik (414) 254-6768
