Most ribbons are the standard. 1/2" one or two color ribbons used on older typewriters, and are still available at Amazon, or if you're lucky at a local office machine/typewriter repair store. A listing of International and domestic typewriter repair shops is at the Classic Typewriter Page, online. Scroll down to typewriter repair shops.
Amazing what's still out there!
Many of the Teletype type baskets were made for Teletype by LC Smith/ Corona ( who also later owned Kleinschmidt), and other typewriter companies.

I had read somewhere that the 8th bit should always be a one. Then Dave Tumey told me that if my keyboard has an ESCAPE key instead of an ALT key, the 8th bit is parity and he was correct. My keyboard is set up for EVEN parity and is doing it correctly.

He didn't, but was able to re-thread my spools with a new ribbon. This morning I tested it out and my typing unit is working pretty good. See picture. The only key that doesn't work is the carriage return. So, I'll have to look into that, any suggestion would be helpful. Anyway Thanks everyone for the help.
