Well... since I got past getting the distributor clutch tofunction properly, I thought it would be a simple matter to get my Model 33 towork in the local mode, but I was wrong. Placing the unit in the local modewould not get the typing unit to work at all. I first found an open trace onthe Selector magnet circuit board, but that didn't completely repair the issue.I set up my scope to look for the output of the distributor and there was nopulses at all. After a long while I found that the answer back contacts werecontinuously shorting out the distributor. So, I removed the common wire to theanswer back and all of a sudden the typing unit would do something, but was itcorrect. Since I do not have a ribbon that works, yet, I tried a carriagereturn and that didn't work, yet the print head and hammer did something. So Ireconnected the scope and wanted to look for pulses. I connected the scopeacross the 20ma limiting resistor in the UCC6 and typed the letter 'A'. I gotwhat looked like a zero start pulse followed but 7 high pulses, then one zeropulse, followed by two high stop pulses. See picture. This didn't look like anASCII 'A', so I tried other letters and they all had the same waveform expectoccasionally the 7th zero was also a high. I know the keyboard is putting outthe proper ASCII codes, because I checked them all, prior to this. So, maybe the distributorcontacts need cleaning? Making progress, but it's sloooowwwww. Thanks,
