Geeezzz... what a Schmerz im Arsch. Each time I assembled the keyboard one item was not in the proper place and I have to open it up again. Probably had to do this a dozen times before I got it together properly. Anyway, it was worth it. I removed the contact wires and found that most of the contact areas were oxidized, especially where the wire contacts the wire lug at the bottom. There was no rust on any of this stuff, but a good coat of oil. I cleaned up the terminal bars, the wires (and reshaped them), the wires and as much of the code bars and T bars as I could reach. I also expoyed loose terminal bar, turned out OK. Then once it was all back together, for the last time, I tested each key at plug J7 and got the proper ASCII code. What a relief. So now I can relace the wiring and it should be ready to use. One other thing. My key caps are oxidized. They are gray in color with white labels, but the white oxidation makes it hard to read the label. Is there something I can do to remove the oxidation or otherwise improve the appearance? Thanks,Mike Zahorik (414) 254-6768

I got a number of parts from:
RTTY Electronics
PO Box 20101
El Sobrante, CA 94820-0101 USA
Paul Cembura, owner and Teletype guru
Telephone 510-222-3102
Email mr_rtty at pacbell.net
Minimum order $20. He has ribbons, keycaps, and a huge variety of parts. You need to order by part number, so the parts lists really matter. The parts list I generally work from, contemporaneous with my -33, is here:

It's full of exploded diagrams showing all the pieces with their part numbers.
