Nothing like the smell of warm oil in the shack in the  morning.
I monitored 147.06 for years with mechanical teletype  machines.

I still have them and they are available to a good  home.  To much history
to send to the junk yard.

That was the old 147.060 RTTY system run by WB9AGH. It went off the air
years ago. Bob Hajak was the trustee, and passed away a few years ago.


We actually had an old Teletype machine in our police comm center that
monitored that system. I was working the desk one night when the tower was
struck by lightening, frying the old Micor receiver that was used on this.
The
old Teletype itself went batty as well and would never work even after we
replaced the receiver.
