[GreenKeys] Hal ST-8000A for sale or trade

I've been diagnosed with a serious neurological disorder (not really
life threatening though) and have decided to downsize my station a bit.
I have for sale an almost new HAL St-8000A that I actually purchased
"new in the box" (had been stored in a warehouse since around 1981) a
little over a year ago. I have made some useful modifications to it
that make it easy to operate with modern ham radio equipment and
computers. The extremely expensive military style Canon connectors have
all been converted to DE-9 RS-232 connectors and the audio in/out and
radio keying connections are all RCA types. The DE-9's are wired to the
RS-232 standard and any RS-232 cable will work with them.

I also have the original DS-RTTY-WIN program that I purchased from HAL
when I first got this box and it will be included. The ST-8000A will be
repackaged in it's original shipping boxes and shipped via UPS ground,
insured.

I am asking $500 shipped anywhere in the U.S. (It cannot be exported
under the current U.S. Laws). This unit does NOT have a current loop
driver to run machines directly. I can send pictures via email if
anyone is interested.

Downsizing or not, the only trade I would be interested in would be the
earlier model ST-8000 itself in excellent working condition. I'd pay
insured shipping on the 8000A you pay insured shipping (to 67219) on the
8000.

I have the operator's manual in PDF form downloaded from HAL. They
never supplied a maintenance manual for this box as they considered it
too complex for military repairmen to learn maintenance other than
swapping out the boxes. NSA maintained a warehouse full of them in
order to swap them out while the original was being returned to HAL for
repair. This one is one of the "new in box" warehoused items.

Please reply off list if you are innterested.

Memo to NSA, DHS, FBI, CIA, DIA, DEA, ATF, KGB, MI5, and any other
alphabet soup agencies that might be listening/reading/tracking my email
content, I share this computer with an old lady, an ex-con, a priest, a
used car salesman, a military veteran, a pacifist, a vegetarian, a
hunter, a circus midget, a local politician, a doberman and a demented
cat...so any data you collect from me will be meaningless, random and
therefore useless...good luck.
