We could always have our own contest and make whatever rules we want.
Or if not a contest, a "QSO party".  Or try a net.  Back in the late 1950s
the late W0BP held court on 40M every Sunday afternoon, inviting stations
to check in from call areas in sequence.  (It might have been a better
idea to put the W6s last and the W7s before them, since those are in
later time zones than the stations further east.)
