Hi group.
I was lucky to get my hands on two Siemens T37 / 37i Teletypes to accompany my Olivetti T2-CN. (Apart from different keycaps, It looks like this: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1217/1469945034_3c0706942e.jpg <http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1217/1469945034_3c0706942e.jpg>)
The exact model number is:
Blattscheiber T.typ.37i
Fs Sk 2176/30
F.-Nr. 2M20233
One machines looks to be in good order and have been cared for by the ham that used it. I looked over the electronics for dying electrolytics and selenium rectifiers, but found none, so i’ve had it powered on, and the electronics work, but the mechanics have issues. Primarily with dried-on gunk and oil (oil went brown on shafts)
The other is in a miserable state. It has been stored in a damp place, is missing the auto-reply-ID-drum, cover for it, and worst of all - the motor. It’s a 1500 RPM syncronous motor on this model. I will have to see if i can fabricobble something together with another motor and then maybe 3D-print some crown-gears, as making a new worm-gear is out of my reach.
I have googled the best i can, but absolutely no information is available for this model of machine (other than some sites telling a bit of story about the machine, and showing some pictures of it)
Anyone with some help to get these going (PDF, diagrams, explosion-drawings etc.)?
I haven’t had the guts to loosen any screws on the base plate to remove parts of the machine for soaking into turpentine/mineral-oil mix for cleaning just yet, as i don’t really know if it’s made just as modular as the Olivetti T2-CN.
I have a good set of books for the Siemens T100, but they are of no help since it’s so radically different from this machine.
Thanks,
Per.
