[GreenKeys] i-Telex, revisited...

Hello folks,
Here's Steve G./N4TTY's reply to my question about an "idle timer" feature
for i-Telex. I'm not sure if Teletype or WU
might have made a feature like this for machines or not, but this is a
start... If anybody else on here has ideas on this,
by all means "chime in"! And thanks!!
"Mark,
I use an “autostart” device all the time. It is just a small circuit that
is inserted in to the loop that controls a relay that applies power to the
machine when the continuous mark condition goes away. Then after a time
out period of continuous mark the relay opens up again and shuts off the
power to the machine. The board that I use was designed by a member of our
GK list. Jack, K0TTY (now K2TTY) if I remember correctly.
Steve G./N4TTY"
Something like this would seem to be fairly straightforward to get parts
for, build and add into something else like the loop supply mentioned.
Our i-Telex friends in Germany seem to be getting pretty close to making
the solution for USTTY 60wpm machines work with i-Telex. I'm tickled
to death at the prospect of giving one of my machines the opportunity to
run some more. It's like one of those good songs that has you yelling
"More Cowbell Please!!!". Love that mechanical noise!
