Speaking of FAX machines, does anyone know anything about a model 
RX-3M?? No manufacturer's name on the ID plate.



It is a helical hot-wire type and the control circuitry looks to be c1960.

As far as FAX on HF, TMC made a Tone Intelligence Unit, Model TIS-3 
(TH-39A/UGT) in the early 1960s for AFSK on SSB transmitters (or any 
audio channel). It could do a shift of 12-1000Hz centered on various 
audio center frequencies. For FAX, it was a linear 1000Hz shift.
