Christmas Eve, I made dinner in a brand new 10-1/2" Lodge cast iron frying
pan...Scrambles eggs, sausages, mashed taters and toast.
Afterwards I says to the wife:
"You get to clean the frying pan."
"Why?"
"Because it's yours. Merry Christmas."

Too funny, she hand NO idea that was her gift.

This morning, I roll out of bed and head into the bathroom to find an old
ashtray and magazine stand. She snuck in during the night and hid it there
with a Christmas card.

Last year, I'm in Walmart and she spots this (fake) wooden ammo box with
wood handles in my shopping cart. "Where did you find that? Are there
any more left?"
"Why? Do you need two of them?"
"What?"
"Try and act surprised when you find it under the Christmas tree."

The best one was 7 years ago. I had spotted a new, un-built Boy Scout
Explorer two tube regenerative radio kit at the antique store next to
my shop. I asked the owner to set it aside, I'll have the money next week.
I go back, "Sorry. We sold it." And I'm thinking, "I'm new here, I probably
shouldn't beat the crap out of her."

Three weeks later, after dinner on Christmas, my wife hands me a box.
About the right size for a sweater maybe.
It was the radio kit.

Think I'll keep her. ;-)
