Sorry, but I just have to ask, why not just replace it?

Subject: [GreenKeys] Repairing teletype/teleprinter ribbon
Greetings all.
This subject possibly been dealt with in earlier postings. If available in
archives please point the direction.
The ribbon in question, fabric cotton I guess, has been torn in half.
Some method of joining is needed which will transverse the ribbon guides
without jamming. Glueing appears (to me) to be the only way with a chance
of success but would necessarily be able to do its job while maintaining a
flexible minimum thickness of the tape joint. If glueing is the method of
joining used, some points on the preparation of the ribbon to ensure
adhesion will be appreciated.
Cheers.
Maurie
