Hi all...
Many kbd issues with M33, such as loses/gains of bits etc.,
can be caused by many things...
Most common problem is kbd contact gaps between the contact
buss bars and the contact wires...The gap is fairly critical and
must be within spec...
Also, if the kbd reset lever (Driven by the "H" plate) is not adjusted
properly, it can be driven too far downward sometimes bottoming
out in its' slot causing contact "Bounce".
There only needs to be enuf downward drive to
overclear the kbd latch lever & ensure it latches for each character...
The "H" plate bracket moves forward or back to meet the adjustment
criteria...
It is a good check to verify also the straightness of the contact
wires where they rest in the nylon "T" levers attached to the
kbd code bars...
Ensure the buss bar & contact wires are squeaky clean where
they touch each other...
I use a clean dry pipe cleaner to clean up this area being careful
not to bend the contact wires(s)...
Under NO circumstances use any type of contact cleaner
sprays or solvents in this area, as they will "Craze" the plastic contact
block and it will literally crumble to pieces!
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
Ken
