It's pretty simple.
All takes is a ruler with 1/16" graduations on it.
Actually, even a Home Depot yardstick with 1/8 graduations will work.
2-1/2 1/8" marks are 5/16.
The bolts will be either 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" 7/16" 1/2" 9/16" or 5/8"
5/16 through 1/2 are pretty much standard for casters.
Then you count the number of threads per inch (or per 1/2" and
multiply by two)
