Thank you Paul Cembura ( http://www.johnwhitney.com/misc/paul-rtty.htm ) and Wayne ( teletypeparts at concast dot net ).

My goal was to get a working ESC key on my tabletop Model 35 KSR.

Paul shared that the 35 KSR had some Control Shift combos that sent out additional characters, and I found that Control-Shift-K would send out an ASCII ESC character (27). I used my handy Digilog 620 to see what the Teletype was sending out...

But, I really wanted an ESC key.

Paul then mentioned that likely the ESC key was already in the keyboard, just no key cap and key arm to connect an ESC key to the keyboard mechanics. So using my finger under the keyboard, I was able to press a lever that sent out the ESC character, and it was right under where the ESC keyhole cover was. Wayne then volunteered an ESC key cap from some Model 33 keyboard parts he had, and Paul sent me the needed "2nd row key" control arm. I put these together and the result installed just fine.

Now my Model 35KSR has a functioning ESC key. Yeah! Here is a picture...

Now I notice my Q key looks a little tatty. Will need to pull that out and buff it up a little.

Thank you everyone.
