But wouldn't Jack's (K2TTY) autostart board do the same thing and not even
require a connection to the I-Telex system?
And Jeffrey, below you show your I-Telex number as 67045. I thought it was
76470.

Subject: [GreenKeys] i-Telex and auto-start.
The normal operation of the TW39 card is with the call control units used
with the Telex network.
There is a polar relay in the call control unit that senses the line
polarity and turns the TTY machine on when is reverses.
The Lorenz Lo-15b that I have has this and operates this way.
The Teletype Model 32 with the call control unit for the Western Union TWX
service operates the same way.
Ken in Canada has a Teletype Model 32 with the call control unit connected
to the i-Telex system using a standard TW39 card.
Henning is working on a modification to the TW39 card to use with Teletype
machines such as the Model 15 without a call control unit. The "secret code
name" for this is USTTY.
Operation of a Teletype Model 15 is simple.
The loop is energized (mark) at all times.
To initiate a call, hit the break key to open the loop momentarily.
The i-Telex unit will send "No?" and expects you to type the number you wish
to call.
It will send the time and date to let you know you are connected.
To end the call, you hit the break key again.
In parallel with this, is making an "auto-start" signal available from the
USTTY card (normally, this is the polarity reversal signal) for an external
motor control relay, such as the Crydom MCX240D5.
