For what it's worth, I had a similar situation come up last year while I was
playing with my Lorenz Lo15c.
It's up at the front of the shop and the HAL ST8000A is in the back along
with the PC running HAL software.
What to do?
I have a spool of 16 gauge twisted pair left over from a 70 volt speaker
install. I connected one end to the 4-conductor jack (with a jumper) at
the Lorenz, and the other end, 75' away to the loop interface box plugged
into either the PC or the ST8000A.
Obviously, this worked just dandy.
Before I looked up and remembered I had the box of cable, I was toying
with the idea of a couple of short adapters and using a 100' extension
cord.

I remember back in the '70s, all my TTY gear was inter-connected with
16 gauge SJ cord that I'd bought surplus.
