Hey Eric,
Thanks for that! I'll check it out.
I have been dreaming for a while of a teletype chat network where
we could get guys connected easily with a little box (an "Internet
TU"??) that contains maybe a Rasp Pi or BeagleBone class processor)
with 20 and 60mA loops on one side and ethernet or WiFi on the other.
(It's possible Gil is working on such a thing based on hints that have
been dropped).
Then there is a cloud service that this device connects to and the
user can connect to "channels" or "chat groups" using simple,
short keyboard commands and ultimately be connected into round table
conversations with other TTY users. Some channels might be broadcast
channels and there we could have the equiv of the iTTY stuff so that
you can tune in and receive only for demonstrations or whatever.
Being able to use an existing cloud chat service such as Google Chat
takes care of about 50% of my goal :-)
