The sounds card merely makes the ITTY signals audible. Then a TU such as an ST-6 will convert the audible signals into current loop signals to drive the TTY (I am not sure if the 129 uses current loop or something else)

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice.  To connect the teletype to the soundcard on the pc to stream the itty signal, do i need an oscilloscope and a demodulator? I ask because wouldn't the sound card work as a demodulator? I would also appreciate help down the road when I try to get it to live on HAM.
