Yeah, that's for a remote bell.  But A.P. wanted two different bells,
one to ring on the machine and a different one to ring remotely,
hence needed two different characters for bell.

It appears that the 95088 kit makes use of whichever character is
used to activate the bell on the printer itself; the kit doesn't
include anything in the way of a function bar to recognize the
bell character separately from the one that works the internal bell.

I don't know offhand when or for how long the A.P. wanted this feature.
I just remember reading about it in some old document that has passed
through my hands.
