At the Horseheads, NY (aka Elmira) Hamfest each year they have a hidden
transmitter "bunny hunt." I've never really been into that but enjoy
hearing the updates on the site PA system as guys are hunting around for it.
Well, the one year I apparently was standing somewhere in the vicinity
of the "bunny" and there was a gent who was starting to get almost
belligerent with me, insisting that I was "the bunny," which I was quite
politely denying, because I wasn't! He finally grumbled off on his way.
I figured out later what was causing the confusion: it was the zipper
pull dangly on my hamfest backpack. It's a Bugs Bunny head zipper pull,
probably meant for kids or tweens, but I like rabbits and am a Bugs
Bunny/Warner Bros. cartoon short fan so it's on my backpack. So there I
was standing unbeknownst near the hidden tx which at this event is
called "a bunny hunt," with a stuffed cartoon rabbit on my back pack.
It's no wonder the guy didn't believe me when I said I wasn't the bunny!
